Product Overview: The AHX 316 Withdrawal Sleeve
The AHX 316 is a high-precision withdrawal sleeve, an essential component from our AHX 300 Series of Withdrawal Sleeves. Designed specifically for dismounting bearings with a tapered bore from a cylindrical shaft seat, this sleeve simplifies maintenance and prevents damage to both the shaft and the bearing. With a bore diameter of 75mm, it is engineered for use with bearings that have an 80mm tapered bore, such as spherical roller or self-aligning ball bearings. Its primary function is to be extracted from between the bearing inner ring and the shaft, pushing the bearing off its seat with the help of a lock nut.
As a key part of our Sleeves and Bearing Accessories range, the AHX 316 is manufactured to precise tolerances from high-quality steel, ensuring a reliable and secure fit. This component is crucial in heavy-duty applications where bearings are subject to high loads and require periodic inspection or replacement.
Key Features of the AHX 316 Sleeve
- Facilitates Easy Dismounting: Specifically designed to simplify the process of removing bearings from shafts, reducing labor and downtime.
- Prevents Component Damage: Protects the shaft seat and bearing bore from scoring or damage during the removal process.
- Precision Machined: Guarantees accurate dimensions for a perfect fit and concentric positioning of the bearing.
- High-Strength Material: Constructed from durable steel to withstand the high forces involved in bearing dismounting.
- Slotted Design: Features a slit along its length to allow for the slight compression needed for a secure fit.
- Enables Tapered Bore Bearing Use: Allows bearings with a tapered bore to be mounted securely on cylindrical shafts against a shoulder.
Common Applications
- Mining and Quarrying Equipment: Used in crushers, conveyors, and screening machinery where robust bearing arrangements are essential.
- Pulp and Paper Mills: Applied in paper machines, rollers, and pulp processing equipment that undergo demanding operational conditions.
- Industrial Gearboxes: Ensures reliable mounting and easy dismounting of bearings on transmission shafts.
- Large Fans and Blowers: Critical for mounting bearings in large industrial ventilation systems.
- Construction Machinery: Found in heavy equipment like excavators and cranes where components require frequent maintenance.
- Steel Rolling Mills: Used to secure bearings on the rollers that handle extreme loads and high temperatures.
- Marine Propulsion Systems: Applied in propeller shafts and related machinery for secure and serviceable bearing arrangements.
Benefits of Using the AHX 316
- Reduced Maintenance Time: Significantly speeds up the process of bearing replacement, minimizing machinery downtime.
- Increased Shaft Lifespan: By preventing direct contact and friction during removal, it helps preserve the integrity of the shaft.
- Simplified Assembly Design: Allows for the use of straight cylindrical shafts, which are often easier and more cost-effective to manufacture than stepped shafts.
- Enhanced Reliability: Provides a secure and rigid seating for the bearing, contributing to overall machine reliability and performance.
- Cost-Effective Maintenance: Reduces the risk of damaging expensive shafts or bearings during service, lowering long-term operational costs.
- Reusable Component: Can be reused multiple times, offering excellent value over the life of the machinery.
